Mount Everest Infographic

Brief: Create a complex infographic that conveys detailed information about a subject of your choice. The infographic could catalog a large amount of data, explain a process, or provide instructions, but it must do so in a way that is clear and visually engaging. Choose a topic and determine what you would like to accomplish. Thoroughly research the topic and develop a layout. Consider what graphics and type choices will best convey your intention. Develop a cohesive infographic.

Solution: I have always been in awe of Mount Everest and those who climb it. I decided my layout should include the history of climbers, the actual route to summit, and the physical and mental effects of climbing to 29,035 feet above sea level. I chose the typeface Futura because its sharp angles reminded me of acute mountain rock. The blue/gray color scheme was meant to evoke the cold climate. The actual route, the death zone, and heart are red to convey just how dangerous it is.
